Review Test Reports: Always request a third-party Certificate of Analysis (COA) or internal quality control report from the supplier. This document must clearly state the enzyme activity value (U/g or U/mL), testing temperature and pH level, as well as the specific standard used for testing (e.g., GB/T, USP, etc.).
Confirm Batch Consistency: Verify that the values on the COA match the labeled nominal values. Ensure that the fluctuation in enzyme activity across consecutive batches of the same product remains within a reasonable range.
Compliance Labeling: The procurement contract should specify the standard number the product complies with (such as GB 1886.174-2024) and the guaranteed minimum enzyme activity during the shelf life. As a mandatory national standard, GB 1886.174-2024 is a prerequisite for the compliant application of all food-grade enzyme preparations within China. If the product is intended for export to the EU market, it is also necessary to confirm whether it meets the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) and the EU Qualified Presumption of Safety (QPS) status.
