Lysophospholipase

What is lysophospholipase?
Lysophospholipase is a class of hydrolases that specifically catalyze the hydrolysis of lysophospholipids. It can remove excess lysophospholipids to prevent product turbidity. Our lysophospholipase is refined through submerged liquid fermentation of Aspergillus niger.

Mechanism of action:
Lysophospholipase possesses both lysophospholipase and transacylase activities. It cleaves the sn-1/sn-2 ester bonds of lysophospholipids to generate lysophospholipids and fatty acids; meanwhile, it can catalyze acyl transfer reactions to restructure phospholipids.

Food Industry
1.Oil Processing and Modification
Adding lysophospholipase during vegetable oil refining enables the targeted hydrolysis of lysophospholipids, improving oil transparency while reducing oil loss during the refining process.
2.Dairy Product Processing
Incorporating lysophospholipase into dairy products hydrolyzes excess lysophospholipids, enhancing the emulsification stability and smooth texture of products, as well as extending the refrigerated shelf life.
3.Baking and Flour Products
Lysophospholipase regulates the ratio of lysophospholipids to phospholipids in dough, strengthens the elasticity and gas retention of the gluten network, extends the shelf life of baked goods, and maintains a soft texture.
Feed Industry
Adding lysophospholipase to aquatic feed and livestock/poultry feed hydrolyzes lysophospholipids, reducing their irritation to intestinal mucosa, promoting the absorption of fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins, and improving feed conversion efficiency. It also enhances the water stability of feed and reduces the loss of nutrients.
Biochemical Field
1.Lysophospholipase can be used as a tool enzyme to prepare high-purity lysophosphatidic acid by selectively hydrolyzing the sn-1 position fatty acid of lysophospholipids.
2.Lysophospholipase is applicable in the treatment of oil-containing wastewater, where it hydrolyzes lysophospholipids and other lipid pollutants in wastewater, optimizing subsequent treatment processes.

Substrate Specificity: Acts exclusively on lysophospholipids, cleaving the ester bond at the sn-1 or sn-2 position to generate fatty acids and other products. It exhibits no catalytic activity towards intact phospholipids, with high substrate selectivity.
Lysophospholipid Hydrolysis: As a key enzyme in phospholipid metabolism, it eliminates the destructive effect of lysophospholipids on cell membranes by cleaving the ester bonds in their molecules, thereby maintaining the stability of biological systems.
Lipid Metabolism Regulation: Participates in the synthesis and decomposition of glycerophospholipids and fatty acids. In food applications, it can regulate lipid composition to improve product texture; in organisms, it is involved in blood lipid metabolism.

Q1: What is the function of the lysophospholipase?
The main function of lysophospholipase is to hydrolyze the ester bonds of lysophospholipids, participate in the regulation of lipid metabolism, and assist in improving oil stability during food processing.
Q2: Is lysophospholipase beneficial to humans?
The main physiological benefits of lysophospholipase to the human body include regulating lipid metabolism, maintaining cell membrane homeostasis, and participating in inflammatory regulation.
Q3: Can the enzyme activity of lysophospholipase be customized?
Yes, we offer comprehensive customization services. If you have any customization requirements, you can also contact Healthdream team.
